Chang Chung began in the era of Taiwanese agricultural exports and domestic grain distribution. As land, labour and production costs in Taiwan changed, the company shifted from export to import, and has continued to look overseas for grain and specialty crop ingredients that suit Taiwanese food processing.
Over the years Chang Chung has served customers in bean paste, sesame oil, bean sprouts, soy products and food processing more broadly. We understand that a food plant does not simply need stock on hand: it needs the right specification, consistent quality, clear documentation, and continuous delivery in step with production.
Today Chang Chung is turning the origin knowledge, product experience and customer requirements accumulated by its operators into more systematic quality, warehousing, lot and supply management.

Three Generations of Grain
- 01 First Generation
Starting from agricultural exports and grain distribution
Chang Chung took part early on in the distribution and export of Taiwanese red beans, peanuts and other agricultural products, building trade relationships with buyers in Japan and elsewhere. The business then centred on consolidating and trading goods between growing regions, dealers and overseas markets.
- 02 Second Generation
From exporting to global sourcing
As agricultural production costs in Taiwan rose, some products gradually lost their export price advantage. Chang Chung began shifting from an export orientation to an import one, looking to Thailand and other origins for ingredients suited to the Taiwanese market, and steadily widening its range and sources.
- 03 Third Generation
Advancing ingredient cleaning and food safety management
Faced with food processing customers’ requirements on purity, foreign matter, pesticide residues and food hygiene, Chang Chung continued investing in sorting equipment, warehouse management and quality documentation, developing from a pure trading business into a supplier able to clean, stock and deliver.

Turning industry experience into a supply capability that lasts
Chang Chung is systematising its operating processes, lot management, product knowledge and supplier records, so that experience built up over decades can be documented, analysed and carried forward, strengthening how it serves Taiwan’s food industry.
